Artist Statement
Everyone should own a Masterpiece, Or at least a Masterpurse
I hope you enjoy my new purse line, Masterpurses. Masterpurses are inspired by my love of fine art and my desire to translate the moods, colors and themes of masterworks of art into everyday life, making fine art accessible.
I make each Masterpurse by hand, myself. The only exception is the "little black bag" that I use as a base for each purse.
Each Masterpurse is based upon a historically significant work of art. I studied art in college and for the most part, the pieces I've selected are ones that I love - each for different reasons. Some are very recognizable and well known. Others are perhaps a bit more obscure but “very” beautiful in their own way - sometimes for what they mean, sometimes for the colors they use, sometimes for the pure craft they reflect and sometimes, well, just because the image looks great.
The idea behind Masterpurses is to expand the presence of fine art in our everyday life.
As I see it, everyone should own a Masterpiece or at least a Masterpurse.
